One day

One day in your life, you'll feel uncertain. You aren't sure if you are happy, sad, excited or scared. Different emotions ,various thoughts that are disturbing me right now. I don't know where and when will this end. I felt like I am circled in darkness. I can see hope and I am trying to reached it but I can't. It's just so far from me. I need to take full strides to have it and say Yes!..there is really hope. Me? Myself? I? Alone..........

Sleep hygiene

To have a good sleep is one of the problem of most people. It's very frustrating if you can't sleep well. Tossing and turning around are not a good thing to do..hooosshhh... Anyways, here's some tricks and tips to help you:

Sleep only when sleepy .
Don't take naps.
Get up and go to bed the same time every day.
When your sleep cycle has a regular rhythm, you will feel better.
Refrain from exercise at least 4 hours before bedtime.
Regular exercise is recommended to help you sleep well, but the timing of the workout is important. Exercising in the morning or early afternoon will not interfere with sleep.
Develop sleep rituals.
It is important to give your body cues that it is time to slow down and sleep. Listen to relaxing music, read something soothing for 15 minutes, have a cup of caffeine free tea, do relaxation exercises.
Only use your bed for sleeping.
Refrain from using your bed to watch TV, pay bills, do work or reading. So when you go to bed your body knows it is time to sleep.
Stay away from caffeine, nicotine and alcohol at least 4-6 hours before bed.
Cigarettes and some drugs contain nicotine. Alcohol may seem to help you sleep in the beginning as it slows brain activity, but you will end end up having fragmented sleep.
Have a light snack before bed.
If your stomach is too empty, that can interfere with sleep. However, if you eat a heavy meal before bedtime, that can interfere as well. Dairy products and turkey contain tryptophan, which acts as a natural sleep inducer. Tryptophan is probably why a warm glass of milk is sometimes recommended.
Take a hot bath 90 minutes before bedtime.
A hot bath will raise your body temperature, but it is the drop in body temperature that may leave you feeling sleepy. Read about the study done on body temperature below.
Make sure your bed and bedroom are quiet and comfortable.
A cooler room along with enough blankets to stay warm is recommended. Use sunlight to set your biological clock.
As soon as you get up in the morning, go outside and turn your face to the sun for 15 minutes.
Well, hopefully next time you can sleep soundly like Philly. Whew!

Philly's All Time Favorite

"A dog is like a liberal. He wants to please everybody. A cat doesn’t need to know that everybody loves him."- William Kunstler

Philly and I are always together in the house. I love her way. She's a smart little kitten. Before the day ends, we both watch cartoon that soon turned out to be her favorite.Wahahaha..Isn't it silly? Well it's crazy to say but it's true. Whenever I heard her drawn -out with a mrrowwww sound it means she demands for something.:) Brat! Hmmm anyways, I let her watch her fave "Family Guy. The irony here is that she like Brian Griffin who is the dog in Griffin's family. He exhibits some "typical" dog treatments like licking himself, leaving dead birds on the porch, eating garbage, intensely fearing the vacuum cleaner, and sleeping at the foot of master Peter Griffin's bed, he can speak intelligently, walk bipedally, and has a sharp wit. Isn't it amazing? Whew! No wonder why Philly chattered everytime she watched this show.

Oh , here are the ways on how you're kitten or cat communicate with you:

*Short meow - standard greeting.
*Multiple meows - excited greeting.
*Mid-pitch meow - plea for something.
*Drawn-out mrrroooow - a demand for something.
*Low pitch MRRRooooowww - a complaint
*High-pitch RRRROWW! - anger or pain.
*Chatter (rapid teeth-chattering jaw movements) - excitement, frustration (e.g. when prey is out of reach or escapes)
*Chirrup (Also called "chirring", a cross between a meow and a purr with rising inflection) - friendly greeting sound, often used by a mother cat to call to her kittens.
*Purr - invites close contact or attention

Now, you have all these hints already. Thus, there is no way we can't understand them. All we need to do folks is LISTEN.

So, here's the video clip of her fave cartoon. Enjoy!!!!

Kitty Philly Care

"A meow massages the heart." Anonymous

Kittens need alot of care and love. Treat them with love and respect and they will become a very happy and loving companion and friend. Talk softly and watch how they listen. They might respond with a meow or other sound.
With that, you need to give proper care to show how much you love them. The following tips will surely help you:

1. Have clean, fresh water available to your kitten at all times.
2. Offer your kitten either dry food, canned food, or both. Be sure to choose food which is designed for kittens. They require a diet which is especially rich in protein, calcium, and other nutrients.
3. Young kittens need to stay warm, but their bodies are too small to retain body heat well. That is why they like to cuddle up together, or curl up under your chin or in your lap to sleep. Kittens younger than about 10 weeks need a warm place to be, such as under an incadescent lamp or in a warm, lined box or kitty bed. This is especially important if you have only one kitten.
4. Do not give your kitten cow's milk - it can make them sick and give them diarrhea. You can obtain mother's milk replacer for young kittens at many of the pet stores in the area. When the kittens are 8 weeks or older, they no longer need the milk but may enjoy it anyway.
5.Litter boxes. Be sure to clean them so that they will develop the litter box habit.
6.Kittens will instinctively clean themselves, but the mother helps to develop this behavior too. Since you are acting in the role of "mommy"you can help them by cleaning her gently with a damp washrag.
7. You can help your kitten become a friendly, well socialized cat by spending plenty of quality time with him or her. He will like be stroked gently around the ears and under the chin. Be sure to pet her all over her body, so she gets used to be touched even on her paws and tummy. They enjoy being touched gently by you and will grow to enjoy your smell and your voice. Speak in a low voice - they are afraid of loud noises!
8.Play time is very important to a kitten. They learn to socialize, develop physical skills, get exercise, and have fun! Kittens have a great time playing with each other - rough housing, stalking, pouncing, chasing, and grooming each other.
9. Your kitten will start to scratch at things at an early age. This is the time to start training her! Provide a small scratching post or flat scratching pad and keep it wherever she usually plays.

In conclusion, kittens need our love and affection. Giving them proper care will give them assurance that we deeply appreciate their presence and by that we definitely show our love.

I love Kitty Philly

"Love your kitten and treat it well. "

Give it plenty of kindness and affection and you will be rewarded with a loyal companion for many years to come.

If you are decided to have a kitten, you have to chose the one that was properly socialized. Proper socialization means that when your kitten was still nursing, the owner took her out of the litter to be held and handled by all sorts of people—big and small, male and female. The kitten learns early on that people are gentle, fun to touch, and occasionally have great food treats. It is important for you to expose your new kitten to all kinds of people. When your kitten is sleepy or wants to cuddle in your lap, you have an excellent opportunity to teach her that touching in certain sensitive places is not to be feared. Softly rub her toes, lift her lips, touch her teeth, fold back her ears and run her tail through your closed hand. In other words, alleviate her fear of being touched by people. Your veterinarian will love you!

That is why, with PHILLY nothing is difficult. She's been so loving and caring in her own little ways. I was never fascinated with kittens before until my husband taught me its nature and behavior. Yes, it was not easy at first but when you learn to know them ,you'll surely admire them. Now, one thing is absolutely certain for me. I love Kitty Philly!:)
